Bio:

Juan is an Industrial Engineer with a Bachelor of Science degree from Universidad de Los Andes, in Bogota, Colombia, and a Master Executive in Management from EOI Business School, in Spain. He has obtained extensive experience in management, particularly in the technology field. His expertise includes design and implementation of information systems, software, e-business, and Internet. He has experience and complete understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and strong knowledge of online business marketing, strategic planning, logistics, and CRM-ERP applications.

He has worked independently as a designer and programmer of information systems, as well as an instructor of IT theory and computer applications. In the educational field, he also worked as a consultant, designer, and developer for a secondary school, where he was in charge of developing information websites and the consulting on the design of the physical network.

At BC Hydro, he was a Database Support Engineer in charge of the development of interfaces and applications for the retrieval and analysis of information. He was also responsible for providing support on the department’s databases. He designed and implemented an information system for event management and a user interface, based on MS Access, to facilitate access to databases and information within his department.

Juan was a software engineer for Top Producer Systems, one of the best known software development companies in the real estate industry in North America. He maintained and managed a 300 employee Intranet, continuously working on the development and improvement of applications to assist in the finding and retrieval of information from various departments. He later became Project Manager for the same company. As such, Juan coordinated the planning, development, and implementation of several applications for internal and external use. He was in charge of budget analysis, resource assignment, and review coordination, working as a bridge between the Quality Assurance and Development teams. He directed the development of a new product line based on Intranet, which was a total success at the US National Association of Realtors.

He moved on to manage Listingwebmaster.com, an online real estate listings company. He managed all aspects of the business, including project management, sub-contracting, finances, orders, and customer support. He designed and implemented all processes and infrastructure, including software development and the web interface.

Juan has also worked with leading companies in the telecommunications and information management industry as project manager, logistics coordinator, and new market and product researcher. He worked in the design, planning, and implementation of business opportunities, products, and special projects, as well as in the analysis of user/customer impact and response to new products and services, working particularly with corporate clients in the private and public sector.

At the Torrenegra Group Juan has been able to contribute his experience and expertise in strategic business planning, marketing, project management, and customer relations in the technology and online industries to help develop outstanding business models aimed to help freelance professionals connect with potential clients and promote their services online.
